Curtis Eugene Gilbertson

Curtis E. Gilbertson, age 82, of Dallas, WI died Monday, January 29th, 2024 at his home.  He was born October 19th, 1941 to Elling & Gena (Nelson) Gilbertson at Rice Lake & was raised and attended school in the Dallas area.  He served in the US Army from 1964-1966, including a tour in Vietnam.  After his discharge, he returned to the Dallas area where he worked various jobs including farming and working at a sawmill.  On June 27th, 2020 he was married to Sharon (Reinecke) at Dallas.  In his free time, he enjoyed hunting & fishing. 

Curtis was preceded in death by his parents & brothers: Leo, Elling Jr. & Jerome Gilbertson.  He is survived by his wife: Sharon of Dallas, sons: Lance (Shannon) & Danny (Laurie) Gilbertson, all of Wyoming, step-son: Jerry (Danielle) Zebro of Ridgeland, step-daughters: Sherry (Shawn) Thalacker of Eau Claire & Gena (Barry) Ketchum of Wilson, WI, grandchildren: Tara Gilbertson, Kimberly (Karsten) Hatch, Rebecca (Dan) McGarry, Ashlynn (Craig) Westbroek, Channelle Brewer, Cory (Shanea) Gilbertson, Kylie (Josh) Jaques & Cody (Ali) Gilbertson, step-grandchildren: Amelia & Cora Zebro, Sammy, Derek & Ryan Ketchum, 12 great grandchildren, brothers: Vernon (Judy) Gilbertson of Dallas & Larry (Lynn) Gilbertson of Chetek, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 8th at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Prairie Farm with Rev. Roger Quandt officiating.  Visitation will be held for the hour prior to services at the church.  Interment with Military Honors will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Northern WI Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Spooner.  Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
